"CDCS developed Knowledge brief on the EKATA Model, to forge adoption and wider dissemination of EKATA philosophy across Bangladesh's garment industry-strengthening confidence, equality, and voice."
CDCS® prepared a comprehensive Learning Brief to capture, document, and disseminate the key lessons and best practices of the EKATA (Empowerment, Knowledge, and Transformative Actions) model, a community-based approach aimed at promoting worker well-being, particularly within Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) industry.

The project focused on capturing the key learnings and best practices from the EKATA model to create a comprehensive learning brief that could be disseminated for broader knowledge-sharing. The findings confirmed that the initiative created a powerful ripple effect of empowerment and inclusion — strengthening the voice, leadership, and workplace relationships of 25,000+ female and male workers while enhancing awareness on rights, safety, and communication among 68,000+ community members.

According to CDCS®’s assessment, EKATA achieved transformative outcomes: over 90% of women reported confidence in their future, leadership, and career growth; 80% raised their voices for fair benefits; and 60% discussed workplace safety, salaries, and entitlements more openly. The EKATA model stands as a proven example of how empowerment, awareness, and solidarity can reshape gender equity and social balance in Bangladesh’s ready-made garment industry.
